Energy Efficiency Concurrent Workshops – Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th February 2009

UNSW will be hosting several parallel energy efficiency workshops organised by the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA), a few of which are opened to academics, researchers and students. Please see the attached program for full details. If you are interested in taking part, please email cerpa@unsw.edu.au indicating name, contact details, profession and session you wish to attend.

New era for UNSW solar research

UNSW has confirmed its position in the front line of Australian renewable energy research with its selection as a foundation member of the Australian Solar Institute (ASI), a $100m research and innovation established by the Federal Government to fast-track solar energy technologies.
The University has received $5 million in Federal funding through the ASI towards the establishment of a state-of-the-art pilot production line for silicon solar cells – the first facility of its kind in Australia and one which will greatly enhance national research and development capacity.

Energy Research Showcase – Friday 5th December 2008

CERPA will be championing the UNSW Energy Research Showcase, to be held on Friday 5th December. The Energy Showcase will comprise a full day of presentations and a display of posters or short filmed presentations. This is an opportunity for UNSW researchers from all discipline areas with an interest in Energy research to share ideas and information, to meet and consider possible new collaborations and avenues for exploration and to demonstrate to each other, students, industrial partners and the public the breadth and quality of the work being undertaken at UNSW.

The ISES-AP-08 Conference – 25th-28th November 2008

The 2008 Asia Pacific Regional International Solar Energy Society Conference will bring together a wide range of the best international solar and renewable energy researchers, industry personnel and funding bodies. This will create an excellent forum for formal discussion of new research and developments at oral and poster sessions and also an informal networking environment for exchange of ideas and fostering of collaborations. Plenary keynote speakers include Prof. Deo Prasad and Prof. Martin Green.
