Dr Guy Allinson
Guy Allinson is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Petroleum Engineering, UNSW. He lectures in oil and gas industry economics, project risk analysis and petroleum business studies. He is also a project leader for research into the economics of carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) in collaboration with the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC). He has been in this role for the CO2CRC and its predecessor, GEODISC, since the year 2000. His work in CCS has covered (a) estimating the costs of CCS for major sources of CO2 emissions across Australia, (b) developing software for estimating the costs of CCS for given sources and potential injection sites and (c) assessing the economic viability of CO2 injection into oil and gas fields and coal bed methane reservoirs for CO2 storage and enhanced recovery.
